Which coffee to choose?Updated a month ago

Choosing the ideal coffee can be a complex process, with a multitude of preparation methods, intensity levels and flavour profiles to choose from. To begin with, it's essential to determine your preferred method of preparation, whether by extraction (espresso machine, Italian moka) or infusion (filter coffee maker, Chemex). This will influence the type of coffee you choose.

Secondly, the degree of roasting and the origin of the beans play a crucial role in the intensity and flavour of the coffee. A more heavily roasted coffee will be more intense, while lighter coffees will have more fruity, delicate notes. Acidity and bitterness are often confused, but they provide different taste experiences. Acidity, for example, is thirst-quenching and can evoke lemony notes, such as those found in Bio Uno coffee.

Finally, the aromatic profile of the coffee, whether chocolatey, fruity or earthy, will depend on the region of origin of the beans. African, South American and Oceanian coffees offer a wide range of flavours to suit all tastes. Your final choice may also be influenced by the way you consume your coffee - with or without milk and sugar.
